Taguig police seized 114.01 grams of suspected shabu, or crystal meth, worth P775,268 in a buy-bust operation in the city.
Southern Police District Director Emmanuel Peralta said the operation conducted on June 23 also led to the arrest of two suspects.
He identified them as Julius Caesar Janer, alias “Rap-Rap”, 41, a resident of Kalayaan Avenue, Makati; and Charelyn Cantos, 34, of Purok 8, Panday Creek, Bgy. Palingon, Taguig City.
The Taguig City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Police Staff Sergeant Richard Mendibel under the supervision of Police Captain Salvador Camacho Jr. and Police Colonel Celso Rodriguez, chief of police, launched a buy-bust operation against Janer at about 8:40 p.m. on June 23 at Purok 8 in Barangay Palingon.
A police officer, who acted as a poseur-buyer, bought P16,300 worth of shabu from the suspects, then gave the signal to the other police that led to the arrest of the duo.
Janer and Cantos will be charged with selling and possession of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“The SPD will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of crimes especially illegal drug activities and will keep on reinvigorating its anti-criminality campaigns,” said Peralta. (Jonathan Hicap)
