CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS CITY, Cavite – A 46-year-old garbage collector died on late Monday night when he was stabbed by his son in a quarrel during a drinking spree in Barangay 48-A-San Antonio, Cavite City, the Police Provincial Office (PPO) here reported on Tuesday, June 23.
Jerry Roma Asero Sr. succumbed to a knife wound at the Bautista Hospital in Cavite City.
His son, Jerry Qurimit Asero Jr., 23. also a garbage collector, surrendered to police officers who responded to the scene.
Case investigator Master Sergeant Jonathan R. Baclas said that the incident happened at 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Initial investigation conducted by Baclas showed that the son stabbed his father as they were arguing in a drinking spree in the neighborhood.
There were no other details about the incident which police reported was still under investigation.
Police said a parricide charge was being readied against the Asero son in connection with the incident.
It was the third parricide incident that transpired in Cavite as the province was in general community quarantine (GCQ) due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
