A barangay councilor was gunned down Thursday night by two unidentified men inside the village hall of Barangay 484 in Sampaloc, Manila.
Police said the victim, Antonio Calma, Jr., 43, died on the spot from bullet wounds.
Investigation showed that Calma, who was also the officer-in-charge, was having a meeting with other barangay officials at around 10:30 p.m. when two masked gunmen with caps entered the barangay hall and peppered him with bullets.
The gunmen sped away on a red Toyota Innova followed by a gray Mitsubishi Pajero SUV, both without license plates.
Fourteen fired cartridge cases of unknown caliber and a deformed bullet were retrieved from the crime scene.
Police have yet to determine the motive behind the killing.
