TACLOBAN City – A town councilor yielded some 30 grams of suspected shabu worth P240,000 during a police buy-bust operation on Friday in Babatngon, Leyte.
The suspect was identified as Ceasar Bergula, 52, municipal councilor and resident of Barangay Dist. II of said town. He is also listed as a high-value drug target in the municipality.
Agent Novemar Pinanonang, operation team leader of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-8, said the suspect was nabbed at around 7:40 a.m. in Babatngon Public Market in Barangay District 4 of said town.
“There was no resistance during the arrest,” he said.
Bergula is temporarily detained at the PDEA-8 regional detention facility in Palo, Leyte pending inquest proceedings.
