Philippines Football League clubs are scheduled to undergo COVID-19 testing as part of the protocols approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the resumption of training.
Philippine Football Federation President Nonong Araneta said the testing of players and staff could take one to two weeks before they will be allowed to undergo training sessions under strict health guidelines.
“Hopefully pag natapos na ang mga testing of the players and staff and we can finish preparing the venues, then they can start practice,” Araneta said.
Pro football and the PBA were among the leagues given the green light by the IATF in its latest resolution released last Friday.
Under the guidelines, PFL clubs must have a “maximum of 10 people per training session with a 30-minute interval in between.”
The plan, Araneta said, is for clubs to train for one month and see if the schedule, the observance of the said health measures and the community quarantine implementations of the government will be enough for the PFL to possibly return in August.
Araneta had earlier said that training sessions will likely be held at the PFF’s National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite.
“Pag one month walang positive, that means they are doing what’s supposed to be followed in accordance with the protocols,” he said.
