THE Office of Vice President Leni Robredo continues to offer assistance such as free dormitories and shuttle services for frontliners.
Robredo is offering such services this time in Cebu City.
She said this is her way of showing appreciation to their selfless services in this time of health crisis.
“Dahil sila iyong nagsasakripisyo para ligtas tayo, tingin ko tama lang na sila din iyong inaasikaso,” Robredo said in a radio interview.
“Kapag hindi natin sila inasikaso, kahit naman sino, kapag ang pakiramdam niya hindi na-a-appreciate iyong kaniyang ginagawa, talaga mawawalan ng gana,” Robredo added.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has taken its COVID-19 response operations to Cebu City as health workers grapple with the pandemic.
On July 9, Robredo’s office and its “Angat Buhay” partners have started the free ferry service for frontliners and patients from Olango Island to Lapu-Lapu City and vice versa.
This is in addition to the three dormitories and shuttle service initially serving three routes in the infected areas.
The Vice President said they are looking for more private partners and volunteers who can help in the COVID-19 response in Cebu City.
“Sana mas maraming partners tayong mahanap natin. Kasi ang gustong sabihin ng maraming partners, mas marami din tayong matutulungan,” she said.
The opposition leader has been pushing for higher salaries and more employment benefits to prevent medical workers from leaving to work abroad.
