Malacañang on Thursday urged government critics to wait for the elections in 2022 and focus on COVID-19.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said people should set aside politics and unite to face a common enemy.
Roque said Duterte’s critics should wait for the elections and them that there was a bigger problem at hand.
Last month, President Duterte appealed to the people, particularly the local government officials, to stop blaming each other about their situation.
“‘Wag nalang tayong magsisihan kasi nandyan na rin ‘yan,” he said.
He said the situation will only worsen if even local officials will point their fingers at one another.
“If you solve the problem locally amongst the officials there, there’s bound to be a derailment in the programs of government because they will start to blame each other,” Duterte said.
“Nobody would try to introduce noble ideas or even to implement one that is already – a measure that is already proven efficacy kasi nagsisisihan na,” he added.
