The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) will push through with two of its biggest institutional events this year – the Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX) and the Philippine MICE Conference (MICECON).
According to TPB, this year’s PHITEX will still gather local suppliers to engage with foreign buyers but only through webinars.
Among topics are marketing strategies essential during a crisis.
The PHITEX’s first virtual edition, which also features interviews with key industry players, will be held September 22-24.
The MICECON, which was initially scheduled October in Davao City will also be held via digital platform.
“The virtual MICECON or MICECONline will continue to feature plenary and breakout sessions focused on revitalizing all sectors of the MICE industry and provide updates relevant to the “new normal” scenarios faced by the industry,” the TPB said.
Despite the lack of physical gathering, the TPB is expecting hundreds of international participants joining both events.
