DAVAO CITY – Basilan Representative and House Deputy Speaker Mujiv Hataman and his wife, Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, have tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Last Thursday po, nagpaswab po kaming dalawa ni Mujiv kasi nagkaroon kami ng slight fever, 38, pinakamataas na pong fever namin was 38.1,” Mayor Hataman shared over a video message she posted on her Facebook account on Saturday.
Mayor Hataman said the swab test results came on Friday and it showed that they are both positive for COVID-19.
In his statement on Saturday, Rep. Hataman said they thought they were only experiencing a common cough when they decided to undergo a test for COVID-19.
Rep. Hataman added that they are awaiting the results of the tests of their children and all the people in their house in Basilan.
The official also said that while they have followed safety measures strictly, they still got infected.
Hataman added. (Zea Capistrano)
