ACCORDING to the Philippine National Police, crime rate has dipped in the country by 50% with the implementation of quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the decrease however, several crimes made headlines and even sparked outrage during the quarantine period.
This August, GMA News and Public Affairs’ longest-running investigative program Imbestigador returns with “Quarantine Crimes”—a series of all-new episodes that feature various crimes that happened during quarantine.
On August 8, Imbestigador features the sensational case of Fabel Pineda, a 15-year-old girl who was killed in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur last July 2. Prior to her death, Fabel filed a complaint against two policemen of San Juan, Ilocos Sur who arrested her and her cousin for violating the curfew. Based on Fabel’s account, the two officers initially offered to bring them home, but they ended up being molested by the two policemen. Fabel then filed a case against them. But days later, Fabel was gunned down.
Don’t miss “Imbestigador’s” “Quarantine Crimes”, beginning this Saturday, Aug. 8, 4:45 pm on GMA-7.
