FOR the next episode of “Wish Ko Lang!” airing Aug. 8, actress Katrina Halili brings to life the story of Teresa — a loving and hard-working mother who got mysteriously sick.
Joining her are Kim Rodriguez, Luis Hontiveros, and Elijah Alejo.
Nothing can stop Teresa when it comes to the welfare of her children. So, when her co-worker Cristel (Kim) picked on her 12-year-old daughter Marissa (Elijah), Teresa did not back down and defended the latter.
Because of her assertiveness, Cristel was fired by their boss Lander (Luis).
But something happened to Teresa: At first, she only had difficulty breathing but later on her legs got swollen and her body got bloated.
Her family could not help but wonder if Cristel had something to do with Teresa’s condition. People urged Teresa’s family to have her checked by a doctor. But because they have no money, Teresa was not brought to a real doctor.
Now Teresa’s children are suffering especially Marissa. They love their mother so much that Marissa and her siblings will do everything for their mother.
Katrina shared how she saw herself in Teresa.
“Yung pagmamahal at pagsusumikap niya para maging maayos ang pamilya n’ya, dun ako nakarelate sa kanya,” the Kapuso actress said.
The “Wish Ko Lang!” episode also serves as the reunion for her and her “Prima Donnas” co-star Elijah.
“Na miss ko si Elijah! Nung taping na kami talaga nagkita, nakakatuwa at nagkaron kami ng chance na magkasama sa ‘Wish Ko Lang’,” said Katrina.
Elijah missed her “Ate Katrina”, as well. “Natuwa po kasi after ng ilang buwan, nagkawork po ulit kami ni Ate Kat and nanay ko po siya dito so hindi ko po siya tatarayan unlike po sa ‘Prima Donnas.’”
The young Kapuso star also shared what she learned about being part of the episode as Teresa’s daughter.
“Hindi po dapat magtanim ng sama ng loob kasi magagawa mo po yung mga bagay na hindi dapat gawin.”
The latest “Wish Ko Lang!” offering is the first project of Luis as Kapuso. The actor recently signed a contract with GMA Network.
“I am extremely humbled to be part of such a significant show. I am grateful that ‘Wish Ko Lang!’ was the first show to allow me to showcase my craft.”
Asked how working with Katrina was like, Luis admitted that he thought he would be intimidated. “Pero na-realize ko after ko siya maka-eksena na napakagaan n’ya katrabaho at very professional.”
Directed by Rommel Penesa and written by Erwin Caezar Bravo, watch the “Pighati” episode of “Wish Ko Lang!” hosted by Vicky Morales, this Saturday after “Tadhana” on GMA-7.
