Authorities seized Wednesday more than P23 million worth of ecstasy pills contained in seven of the eight abandoned parcels at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Drug Agency (PDEA) spokesperson Derrick Carreon said the illegal drugs were discovered by members of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).
He said the first parcel contained more or less 4,328 pieces of suspected ecstasy worth P7,357,600. It was declared as “fishing bath, energy saving led light, disney pixar” shipped by Rob Abian of 42 Rue de Spa, Bruxelles, Belgium and consigned to Romeo Timon of Blk. 36 Lot 12, Northville 15, Barangay Cutud, Angeles City, Pampanga.
The second parcel yielded more or less 10 pieces of vape cartridge containing suspected marijuana oil which was declared as “cosmetic beauty creams” shipped by TAN 4464 Ironwood Ave., Seal Beach CA and consigned to Reynaldo B. Tomarong of Purok 4, Banilad Bacong, Negros Oriental Philippines, the PDEA said.
PDEA agents found 2,027 pieces of ecstasy worth P3,445,900 in the third parcel which was declared as “Gondoliere Coffee (Arabica)”
Documents showed that the parcel was shipped by Michael Kraats of Tomaatstraat 13552GC Utrecht Netherlands and consigned to Monica Sanchez of Unit 2868 SMDC Green Residences 709 Philippines.
The fourth parcel declared as “caffe Gondoliere Espresso Beans, Caffe Gondoliere Creme Bonen” had more or less 2,005 pieces of suspected ecstasy amounting to P3,408,500. It was
shipped by Michael Kraats of Tomaatstraat 13552GC Utrecht Netherlands and consigned to Monica Sanchez of Unit 2802 SMDC Green Residences, Taft Ave, Barangay Malate 709 Philippines.
Citing the report submitted to PDEA Director-General Wilkins Villanuenva, Carreon said the fifth parcel declared as “coffee” yielded 1,521 pieces of ecstasy worth P2,585,700. It was shipped by Ad Van Der Kaaji of Hazeslinger 4 3621AT Breukelen, Netherlands and consigned to Therese Dela Cruz of Sampaguita Road, Pilar Village M28 1740 Las Pinas City.
The sixth parcel had 1,647 pieces of ecstasy worth P2,799,900 and was declared as “coffee DE (espresso) shipped by Ad Van Der Kaaj of Hazeslinger 4 3621AT Breukelen, Netherlands and consigned to Jeremy Alvaro of Sampaguita Road, Pilar Village M28 1740 Las Pinas City, Philippines.
Carreon also said that 488 pieces of ecstasy worth P829,600 were found in the seventh parcel which was declared as “Granulaat”. It was shipped by Walereus of Weelheelfen NE, 54047 Tilburg, Netherlands and consigned to Ding Dailo of 128 P. Zamora Street, Poblacion 1, Nagcarlan, Laguna.
In the eight parcel, PDEA agents discovered 1,808 pieces of ecstasy worth P3,073,600 which was also declared as”Granulaat PMR” shipped by Markeus/ Marlens of FM Kunstockholms, Weelheelfan NE, 5047 Tilburg, Netherlands and consigned to Ding Dailo of 128 P. Zamora Street, Poblacion 1, Nagcarlan, Laguna.
Under the supervision of Director Adrian G. Alvarino, PDEA operatives conducted the parcel profiling and K-9 sweeping operations at the CMEC on Domestic Road, Pasay City around 3 p.m. that led to the discovery of the dangerous drugs.
The physical examination conducted by the Bureau of Customs on the parcels confirmed the presence of dangerous drugs in the parcels.
Carreon said that “representative samples were also taken to be submitted to PDEA Laboratory Service for further analysis’’. (Chito A. Chavez)
