TACLOBAN CITY – After months of hiding, Danilo Verunque, Biliran Province’s most wanted, was finally captured by police authorities Wednesday in Caibiran town.
Lt. Vic Viros, Caibiran Police chief, said the accused, 24, a farmer of Brgy. Maurang, had been on the run after he was charged on two counts of murder and frustrated murder in Almeria town in December last year.
No bail was recommended for the murder charges, while the bond was set at P200,000 for frustrated murder.
He was nabbed by authorities after getting a tip from an informant who spotted him in an interior village.
A manhunt operation was immediately plotted after they confirmed the veracity of the report. The warrants of arrest were served in his home in Sitio Culawin, Brgy. Maurang.
Col. Julius Coyme, Biliran Police director, commended the operating troops for the suspect’s arrest. (Marie Tonette Marticio)
