A food delivery driver who uses rollerblades to work became the first recipient of Gretchen Ho’s “Donate A Job, Save A Job” program.
The former volleyball player-turned-TV host announced this on her social media account, briefly narrating the inspiring story of 18-year-old Kean Ramos.
Ho said Ramos filled in the shoes for his sick father as a Grab Food driver to help their family especially in this time of pandemic.
He also opened a coffee jelly business for additional income.
However, Ramos only uses rollerblades to deliver his products to his customers.
A citizen nominated Ramos in the bike-giving program through Twitter, which prompted Ho to search him online.
Ho plans to share Ramos’ story in a video on Friday.
The bike-giving program is just one of Ho’s ways of lending a helping hand to those in need during the pandemic.
She plans to give away 50 bikes by asking interested people to answer a form on why they deserve the freebie.
She also encouraged the public to nominate anyone they know who needed the said vehicle, which has become an essential mode of transportation.
Apart from giving away bikes, Ho is also launching a fund drive to procure more bikes to give away.
“Let’s empower people to continue fighting for their dreams by giving them a ride!” she said.
