CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The tourism office of the provincial government of Oriental Mindoro Wednesday said the report on 80 Chinese tourists who allegedly entered Puerto Galera and eventually put under quarantine was not true.
Dhon Calda, tourism office chief of the province, said the report was posted earlier on Facebook but the unidentified author later removed it and apologized.
Calda checked the reported entry of the Chinese nationals and was told by authorities at Calapan port that there was no record of such entry.
Calda found out later that the resort mentioned in the FB post is not yet operational as it has not yet been granted to operate by the Department of Tourism. (Jerry Alcayde)
