Two weeks after undergoing swab testing, PBA players, coaches and their medical personnel took another rapid test the past two days to ensure that everybody is fine.
PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial said Friday that nine teams did their tests at the Makati Medical Center, while the three San Miguel Corporation (SMC) teams availed of its down testing facility at its headquarters.
Marcial is hoping that everybody will get negative results just like their initial rapid and swab testing so they can plan for the league’s comeback next month.
The health protocol is part of the guidelines approved by the government, or the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) composed of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Department of Health (DOH).
“Ang proseso kasi namin is rapid test first, then swab test na ginawa two weeks ago, then eto nga rapid test uli. After 14 days, saka uli ang swab test for all persons involved sa ensayo,” said Marcial.
Also, since the league imposes a cluster-type of practice session with four players each plus a coach and medical personnel, they too have to take swab test to see if there is an infection from the positive case.
If the results are negative, players can continue and proceed with the scheduled practice session.
