A bus rammed 11 motorcycles, a car, and a bus while travelling along Osmeña Highway in Makati City on Friday morning, injuring several drivers and backriders, police said.
Based on police probe, the bus with plate number TYF 328 hit the vehicles in front of it when they stopped at a traffic light on northbound of Osmeña Highway in Barangay Pio Del Pilar, Makati around 9 a.m.
Marlon Nacaytona, 29, the driver of the bus that hit the vehicles, claimed that the brake of his vehicle did not work when he stepped on the pedal.
The alibi of the bus driver was still being verified by policemen as of press time.
Investigators said the motorcycle drivers and their backriders sustained injuries.
The injured victims were rushed to Ospital ng Makati, Makati Med, and St. Luke’s Global.
Colonel Oscar “Jack” Jacildo, Makati Police chief, said one of the injured individuals is a Philippine Coast Guard officer.
Nacaytona is now under the custody of Makati Police. (Jel Santos)
