CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela – Five members of the New People’s Army (NPA) yielded to government authorities in Isabela, Army’s 5th Infantry Division said Thursday.
Fifth Infantry Division spokesperson Major Noriel Tayaban identified the rebels as certain Ka Renato, Ka Jaime, Ka Kanoy, Ka Butoc and Ka Didag – all members of Sub Guerilla Unit of Central Front Committee, Komiteng Rehiyong-Cagayan Valley (SGU, CFC, KR-CV).
They surrendered to joint operatives of the Army’s 95th Infantry Battalion and the Police Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2 and the Isabela Police Provincial Office on Sept. 6.
Of the five, Tayaban said three are members of the Indigenous People (IP) Agta Tribe of Isabela. (Freddie Lazaro)
