An official of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised pedestrians, bikers, and motorists passing by EDSA to stay clear of the Forbes Park perimeter wall in Makati City after a portion of it collapsed.
EDSA Traffic chief Bong Nebrija on Saturday morning said a portion of the said wall suddenly collapsed and left some of its debris along the major thoroughfare.
Fortunately, nobody got injured after the potion of the wall collapsed.
“Other parts of the wall are also at the brink of collapse as well, this is an accident waiting to happen [e]specially now that the soil is saturated because of the rain,” he stressed in his Facebook post.
” Anyway, pedestrians, bikers and motorists frequenting this location must watch out and stay clear of this wall,” he added.
The MMDA, according to him, has called the attention of the homeowners association of the posh village regarding the perimeter wall years ago. However, Nebrija said nothing has been done to address the matter yet.
“Hindi nagkulang MMDA sa paalala sa kanila. Sinabihan na sila year ago,” he said in an interview.
“I hope an immediate action could be done by the homeowners in the exclusive subdivision to address this matter,” he expressed.
“In case something happens, it is their responsibility. It is not a government fence,” he warned.(Jel Santos)
