The Philippine National Police-Special Action Force has a new commander in the latest revamp in the PNP.
Police Major Gen. Bernabe Balba took over the leadership of SAF, replacing Police Major Gen. Clifton Empiso who was appointed to another position in Camp Crame.
“Parting ways is very hard but Major Gen. Empiso must leave SAF to help me do my job in some other fields of police service. As I take with me Major Gen. Empiso, I am installing an equally competent leader, no less than Brig. Gen. Balba who is also a full-bloodied SAF,” said PNP chief Police Gen. Camilo Cascolan.
Cascolan also appointed Police Brig. Gen. Samuel Rodriguez as the new director of the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Rodriguez replaced Police Brig. Gen. Manuel Abu who was named as the new director of Directorate for Integrated Police Operations- Visayas. The current DIPO-Visayas head, Police Major Gen. Ephraim Dickson, was named as the new head of the Civil Security Group (CSG).
Police Brig. Gen. Daniel Mayoni, on the other hand, was named the new director of the Information Technology Management Service (ITMS) while Police Brig. Gen. Julius Lagiwid is the new deputy director of Directorate for Police Community Relations.
Police Col. Eric Noble was designated as executive officer of DPCR.
The latest revamp, except for Balba who took over the SAF post Wednesday, would take effect Friday, based on the PNP order.
“In every movement and reassignment, we adhere to the principle of “putting the right person on the right job” to ensure effective performance and better service to the public,” said Cascolan.
