Police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) dismantled Tuesday a drug den and arrested five suspects including a former University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons player in a buy-buy operation in a gated subdivision in ParaƱaque City.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon identified the former UP player as Rae Astorga while his companions were Agustin Deulxandre Montejo, Jericho Tumagan, Karen Vidanes Salvahan and Miguel Carlos Mojares.
The suspects yielded 150 grams of kush and small sachets with suspected cocaine when they were arrested at 12 midnight at JEMP Building in BF Homes.
PDEA agent Jill Salamanca said that the operation was carried out after several weeks of surveillance in the area.
Aside from kush and suspected cocaine, authorities also seized two cellphones and various drug paraphernalia.
The raiding team has yet to determine the value of the confiscated illegal drugs.
Elements of the Southern Police District (SPD), ParaƱaque Police Station and PDEA Regional Office Southern District Office conducted the operation. (Chito A. Chavez)
