Police seized more than P47-million worth of shabu in a buy-bust on Wednesday that also led to the arrest of four suspected drug pushers in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Police Col. Rex Arvin Malimban, director of the Batangas Police Provincial Police, said the operation stemmed from confirmed intelligence reports and surveillance about the illegal drugs activities of a local group operating in Batangas and nearby areas.
The alleged drug traffickers were identified as Joey Mordes, Lanze Esquivel, Angelo Morales, and John Paul Muyco.
He said the buy-bust was conducted in a parking lot of an establishment in Sto. Tomas at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Seized were more or less seven kilos of shabu, the boodle money used by the police in the operation and a car.
The confiscated shabu is valued at P47.6 million.
Illegal drugs-related criminal charges are now being readied against the arrested suspects while investigation is being conducted to identify the source.
