Two gunmen shot dead a man and wounded his companion, who were both previously arrested for possession of illegal drugs and firearms, during a birthday party in Tondo, Manila, Thursday night.
Police identified the fatality as Jay-R Castolome, 37; and the wounded as Alfredo Roy Elgarico, 28.
According to police report, Elgarico was hosting a birthday party in his house in Barangay 138, Tondo, at around 8:16 p.m. when two unidentified men appeared and shot him and Castolome.
Castolome died on the spot while Egarico was rushed Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center in Sta. Cruz, Manila due to gunshot wounds.
The gunmen fled onboard a black sports utility vehicle, police said.
Investigation showed that the two victims were previously arrested and charged with illegal possession of drugs and firearms.
The police also said that the victims allegedly threw a hand grenade at the Raxabago Police Station in 2014. (Minka Tiangco)
