Isabela village chief found dead in car A barangay chairman was found dead with a bullet wound in the face inside a car in Purok 1, Barangay Pag-asa, Echague, Isabela, on Saturday morning.
Police said Ricardo R. Mencias, barangay chairman and resident of Barangay Camarao, Cordon, Isabela was found lifeless inside a parked white Toyota Fortuner with plate number ACL 4430 at about 11:3 a.m. Saturday.
Police Capt. Frances Littaua, information officer of Isabela Provincial Police, said the victim was discovered by residents of Barangay Pag-asa.
Police recovered from the scene one fired cartridge case of .45-caliber gun.
Investigators are still determining the motive behind the killing. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
