San Miguel Beer big man June Mar Fajardo is getting back in shape in the hopes of regaining his top form.
In his vlog uploaded Monday, Fajardo hit the gym for the first time since suffering a shin injury in practice last February.
Clad in white San Miguel sando and red shorts, the 6-foot-10 Fajardo can be seen working out and lifting weights throughout the 21-minute video.
“Nakabalik din sa gym! Sarap ng sore sa katawan after workout. Thanks for your constant prayers and support! Appreciate y’all!” the reigning six-time PBA Most Valuable Player wrote in the caption.
He also thanked Beermen assistants Boycie Zamar and Andrew Buhalan for the constant guidance.
Three weeks ago, Fajardo stepped onto the court for the first time since hurting his right shin, practicing his shooting skills at the Beermen’s practice facility in Acropolis Village in Pasig City.
Aside from honing his perimeter shooting and midrange jumpers, the gentle giant also attempted to hit buckets from beyond the arc.
Despite not making it into the bubble, Fajardo continues to cheer his teammates from the sidelines. He was part of the virtual crowd during the Beermen’s 105-98 victory over the Terrafirma Dyip last Monday at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center in Clark, Pampanga.
With almost a month in the bubble, San Miguel, holding a 3-2 record, is in a three-way tie at fourth seed with the Phoenix Fuel Masters Super LPG and the Meralco Bolts as of this writing.
