CEBU CITY – Illegal drugs worth P167.2 million and more than 200 loose firearms were seized in three days of simultaneous police operations in Central Visayas, police reported.
Police Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro said the region-wide police operations held from October 21 to October 23 yielded 25,584 grams of shabu.
“The simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation (SACLEO) focuses on illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms, and accounting of wanted persons,” said Ferro.
Ferro added that 793 drug personalities, including high-value individuals at regional levels, were arrested in those operations, including a former university instructor.
The college professor identified as Gilbert Fuensalida yielded 22 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated of P150 million when he was captured in Lapu Lapu City.
Police also conducted 1,568 operations against loose firearms in the region
“A total of 250 firearms, seized and surrendered, were recovered, said Ferro.
Ferro said similar operations will be conducted in the coming days. (Calvin D. Cordova)
