The Office of Civil Defense said the death toll from typhoon “Ulysses” has increased to 67 as of Sunday morning.
OCD spokesman Mark Timbal said Cagayan Valley has the most number of fatalities with 22, followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon area) with 17, and Cordillera Administrative Region with 10.
Bicol region and Metro Manila have eight fatalities each while two persons were reported dead in Central Luzon.
Timbal said 12 people are still missing – eight in Bicol, three in Metro Manila, and one in Batangas.
Damage to agriculture and infrastructure is currently pegged at P1.19 billion and P470 million, respectively.
Timbal, however, said that the assessment is still ongoing.
He added that latest assessment also revealed that a total of 25,852 houses were damaged in various parts of the country hit by Ulysses.
