Two men, who were accosted by police for a traffic violation, were found in possession of P68,000 worth of shabu in Pasay City on Wednesday night.
Members of Pasay City Police Malibay Substation 6 arrested the suspects identified as John Philip Infante,19, and Marlon Tandingan,27, both residents of Maricaban, Pasay City.
Investigation showed that Malibay cops were conducting “Oplan Sita” at about 9:40 p.m. along EDSA when they chanced upon the motorcycle-riding suspects, both not wearing helmets.
Lt. Gilmer Marinas, leader of the police team, flagged down the suspects and asked for the driver’s license and pertinent papers for the motorcycle, but they failed to present any.
When Marinas asked the suspects to empty their pockets, the cops discovered in their possession two transparent sachets containing shabu weighing about 10 grams with a street value of P68,000.
The suspects, who were turned over to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), were found to be in the police drug watchlist. (Jean Fernando)
