BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio Country Club (BCC) formally opened on Tuesday the annual Christmas Village that depicts “Paskong Pinoy”.
Andrew Pinero, BCC manager for client services, said “simple lang, andun pa rin ang creativity niya, ito ‘yung Paskong Pinoy kasi this is more or less we feel a beacon of hope for Filipinos na kumapit lang despite the pandemic at kahit na may pandemya ay kailangan isapuso pa rin natin ang Pasko, wag para sa sarili natin, kundi para sa ating pamilya.”
Pinero said the mainstay waterfall, artificial snow show, nativity performances are still around.
The place is garbed with Christmas lanterns, the traditional Bahay Kubo, the iconic lechon, and the “Jeepito” which holds the title for being the smallest jeepney in the world.
“It is Filipino talaga. It will make people proud to be Pinoy and it will more or less bring us back to our rules on how Filipinos really celebrate Christmas, and sabi ko nga, despite the pandemic kailangan ang Pasko andyan pa rin, di naman kailangan mawala ang Pasko.”
He also said that they have put in place strict health and safety protocols.
