Two persons died while three others were injured in a two-hour fire that hit a residential area in Pasay City early Monday morning.
The Pasay City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the fatalities as Cindy Navarro, 29, and Lyn Ebona, 39, both residents of Tramo St., Barangay 143 Zone 6, Pasay City The injured – Aubrey May Bertos, 22; Rommel Montero; and Aeron Aldama, 25 – were all brought to a nearby hospital.
Investigation showed the fire started at about 5:41 a.m. on the second floor of a house occupied by one Jockie Joan Libanan at 1734 Tramo St., Barangay 143, Zone 5.
The BFP said that the flames quickly spread to a nearby house which was made of light materials.
Residents told arson investigators that Navarro was seen passing her younger sibling to her husband before she was trapped inside their burning house.
As of Monday afternoon, the BFP was still conducting mopping operations to determine the cause of fire.
