Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) killed on Wednesday two wanted persons in a raid in their house in Angono, Rizal.
CIDG director Maj. Gen. Jose Napoleon Coronel said his men swooped down on a house in Meralco Village, Barangay Mahabang Parang, Angono to serve both a search warrant and arrest warrants.
He identified the slain suspects as Agaton Topacio, who was facing a case of attempted homicide, and Eugenia Magpantay who was facing a case of murder.
“During police operation, instead of yielding peacefully, the suspects resisted causing an armed encounter between them and the police leading to the death of the two,” said Coronel.
The two were declared dead in the hospital.
Seized from them were a cache of firearms and several gadgets. (Aaron Recuenco)
