The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has begun searching for a lawyer who has been reported missing since the weekend.
NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin confirmed on Friday that agents of the bureau has been searching for Atty. Ryan Oliva, who heads the Legislative Liaison’s Unit (LLU) of the Department of Tourism (DoT) and a law professor of the University of the Philippines (UP).
Lavin said the NBI acted on the request of Oliva’s brother who has been trying to locate the lawyer.
“SAU (NBI’s Special Action Unit) is investigating. Agent Javier is agent on case,” Lavin disclosed.
The NBI spokesman said the investigator has also found the last person who saw Oliva and has started to make queries.
“No clear motive yet,” said Lavin who has yet to give more details about the case.
The UP College of Law and Oliva’s brother Randy have made separate Facebook posts asking the public for help in finding the lawyer who has been reported missing since the evening of Nov. 21.
The DoT said that it has also coordinated with the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in helping find Oliva. (Jeffrey Damicog)
