SMART CLARK GIGA CITY – TNT top gunner Ray Parks Jr. is doubtful if he can suit up in Game Two of the PBA Philippine Cup finals against Barangay Ginebra due to a left calf strain injury.
The Tropang Giga’s head coach Bong Ravena confirmed the sad development to the Manila Bulletin-Tempo on Monday.
“Ray has a left calf strain and is highly doubtful to play on Wednesday,” said Ravena.
“We are hoping he could play on Friday,” added the 50-year-old mentor, referring to Game 3.
Parks apparently aggravated the injury he suffered early in the bubble conference after seeing action for 43 minutes in TNT’s 100-94 overtime loss to Ginebra in the opener of the best-of-seven championship series on Sunday night.
The 27-year-old combo guard led the Tropang Giga with 20 points to go with five steals, four rebounds and four assists before fouling out late in the game.
The second-generation cager recently emerged as the new statistical points frontrunner following his stellar play in the semifinals against Phoenix.
Parks led the stats ladder with 38.3 SPs built on averages of 22.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals.
