Google says most fruits with bitter seeds are sweet because they contain a simple sugar called fructose.
On the other hand, most vegetables are less sweet because they have much less fructose.
The coming Christmas is a season of fruits, grapes included.
I’m no doctor, but we are told fruits like grape and mango contain high sugar content and must be avoided by diabetics or those who are promising diabetics.
Are they, really?
A 2013 study published in the British Medical Journal concluded that the consumption of whole fruits, apples, blueberries, and grapes is significantly associated with a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Grapes contain 23 grams of sugar per cup (151 grams).
However, they have a low glycemic index.
Furthermore, it is said that compounds found in grapes may even decrease blood sugar levels.
