Two alleged drug peddlers were killed while five others were arrested in two anti-drugs operations that led to the seizure of more than P250,000 worth of shabu in Nueva Ecija on Friday and Saturday.
Police Co. Marvin Joe Saro, officer-in-charge of Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office, said a buy-bust operation was launched by San Isidro Drug Enforcement Team in Barangay Poblacion, San Isidro, on Dec. 11.
The operation ended in a shootout that resulted in the death of one alias “Visaya” and his unidentified companion.
The team recovered some 30 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P200,000; a .45-caliber Taurus pistol,a .45-caliber Remington pistol, a gray Suzuki APV with plate number TIZ 541, and the marked money used in the entrapment.
On Dec. 12, 24 sachets of shabu worth around P50,000 were seized from five drug suspects who were arrested in in Barangay San Isidro, Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.
Police identified the suspects as Alberto Regala, 32; Lester Destura, 30, both residents of Barangay 69, Caloocan City; Noel Pangilnan, 39; Jay-ar Gravamin ; and a 15-year-old boy. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
