A Chinese national and eight Filipinos were arrested for allegedly constructing a cell site for a telecommunications company without a building permit in Malabon City
Arrested were engineers Hue Jidong, 54, and Jockey Mediola, 44; Pablo Peralta, 49, steel man; Wilfredo Magtalas, 41, mason; Fredison Gagarin, 41; Sancho Villanueva, Jr., 44; Jomar Reyes, 21; and Raymond Bayan, 34, all laborers.
According to a police report, Engr. Daniel Cortez of the Malabon City Engineering Office led police and barangay officials in arresting the construction workers after they were caught building a cell site for Dito Telecommunity Corporation in Barangay Tinajeros, Malabon City around 11:45 a.m. on Monday.
Investigation showed that the Malabon city government has sent a violation notice to the said company twice after seeing that the construction work for the cell site remain unhampered despite the lack of a building permit.
The third violation notice sent to Dito Telecommunity Corporation was reportedly not acknowledged by the company.
The arrested workers are now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Section 301 of Presidential Decree 1096 or the National Building Code of the Philippines.
