Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 entry “The Boy Foretold By The Stars” is not just a story about two boys discovering the thrill of young romance. It celebrates the reality that love is for all.
The rom-com, a collaboration involving three production outfits: The Dolly Collection, Brainstormers Lab and actress Jodi sta. Maria’s Clever Minds, stars Adrian Lindayag as Dominic, and Keann Johnson as Luke, students in an exclusive school who will find love despite their differences.
Adding fun to the whole movie is the quirky fortune-teller played by Iyah Mina, who won Best Actress at the 2018 Cinema One Originals Awards for her moving portrayal of an aging transgender sex worker in “Mamu: And A Mother Too.”
Mina said, “I am proud to be part of this movie as it has always been my aim to promote equality among genders.”
Lindayag said, “I like it that it portrays the LGBTQ community as real people with real concerns.”
“This ties up with my mission to elevate the honor and dignity of gays everywhere.”
Written and directed by Dolly Dulu, catch “The Boy Foretold By The Stars,” streaming on Upstream PH beginning Dec. 25.
