STA. ROSA CITY, Laguna – Two members of a drug syndicate were killed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tagapo, this city, last Saturday.
Laguna police director Police Col. Serafin Petalio II identified the suspects as Gerald Samson, 29, of Southville 5-A, Barangay Langkiwa, Binan City, Laguna, and Jomard Santos Bolajo, 27, of Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City, both members of the Almazan Drug Group.
The Laguna 1st District Intelligence and provincial and city intelligence operatives led by Police Capt. Fernando Credo conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation against the suspects after they received information about their illicit activities.
The suspects sensed they were dealing with a police poseur-buyer and fled onboard a tricycle. They shouted and opened fire at lawmen who retaliated, killing them.
Police recovered 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams worth P330,000, two handguns, an improvised shotgun and ammunition, shells of various caliber, and a tricycle. (Danny Estacio)
