The independent and non-commissioned survey was conducted by RP Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMDinc).
In face-to-face interviews, 3,500 participants were asked to rate their respective mayors regarding their government overall performance for the year 2020.
Belmonte got the highest approval rating among its constituents at 85 percent, followed by Sotto (82 percent), Domagoso (77%), Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian (75%), Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro (72 %);
Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco (69), Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano (67), Makati Mayor Abigail Binay (64), Mandaluyong Mayor Carmelita Abalos (55) and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora (53)
“Our previous survey, June 2020 NCR Mayor’s Performance Review in addressing and responding to COVID-19 situation pushed the LGUs to step up in their game,” Dr. Paul Martinez of RPMDinc said.
“This time our survey was conducted with the intention to assess the overall performance of NCR mayor for the year 2020 and to gauge their re-election bid,” he added.
Respondents were also asked if they will vote for their mayors if they run for re-election.
Sotto got the highest rating at 77 percent, followed by Belmonte (75 percent), Domagoso (72 percent), Teodoro (65 percent), Cayetano (63 percent), Tiangco (61 percent), Binay (60 percent), and Abalos (50 percent).
Of the last termers, only Gatchalian received a strong support of backing if he intends to run for another local position at 70 percent.
The survey ran from December 5 to 15. Respondents were registered voters and all residents of Metro Manila, aged 18 to 70.
