LUCENA CITY – A Quezon town police chief was relieved for his alleged violation of the prohibition on social gatherings contained in the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATFF) guidelines.
Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) director Col. Audie Madrideo said Capt. Joseph Ian Java, chief of police of Dolores Municipal Police Station, was administratively relieved from his post upon the order of Brig. Gen. Felipe Natividad, Police Regional Office-4 director, in coordination with Mayor Orlan Calayag.
According to reports, Java allegedly had a drinking session in his office. A staff of the municipal social welfare office (MSWDO) took a photo of the gathering and posted it on social media.
Quezon Governor Danilo Suarez had earlier issued Executive Order No. 40 prohibiting all kinds of parties, reunions, caroling, and other social gatherings during the holiday season, and strictly prohibiting Christmas parties in all government offices which include the Local Government Unit whether provincial, city, municipal and barangay offices, national government agencies, and instrumentalities in the province of Quezon and government-owned and controlled corporation.
The QPPO has designated Lt. Almario dela Rosa as officer-in-charge of the Dolores Municipal Police Station.
Madrideo urged the members of Quezon PNP to take the lead by strictly following the implementing policies and the health protocols set by the IATF. (Danny Estacio)
