The Antipolo City government has offered a P200,000 reward to anyone who could provide information that may lead to the identification of the suspects in the killing of a former barangay chairman in Antipolo City last Saturday.
In a Facebook post, the city government announced that it is offering the reward money for those who could help in the arrest of the killers of former Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City Chairman Oscar “Oca” Tamayao.
Closed circuit television footage captured two suspects riding in tandem on a motorbike when they followed and shot the driver of a white Toyota High Ace van who happened to be Tamayao himself around 1 p.m. last Saturday near the corner of Olalia Road and Sumulong Highway.
The former barangay head was rushed to the hospital, but he expired an hour later.
The Antipolo police has yet to release an update on the incident.
John Carlo, son of the late barangay chairman, in an FB post, said the incident is painful as he described his father as helpful to others and hardworking.
“Sobrang sakit po ang sinapit ng aming ama ngunit kami po ay wala nang magagawa. Dahil ang lagi nyang sinasabi sa amin, ‘pag oras mo na, oras mo na, wala ka nang magagawa,’” the young Tamayao said.
John Carlo said his father’s wake will be held at the Haven of Angels Memorial Chapels and Crematorium in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo.
