GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite – Authorities arrested three Nigerians in separate buy-bust operations Monday night and seized more than P10 million worth of suspected shabu and marijuana.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency from the Regional Special Enforcement, La Union and Pampanga Provincial Offices identified the arrested suspects as Benjamin E. Enemuo and Chiduben P. Nwong.
The two were arrested at Blk.01 Lot 89 Kensington, Phase 17, on Alden St., Lancaster, Barangay Navarro after yielding around 1,000 grams of shabu with a market value of P6.8 million.
Ifeañyi Ofoma, on the other hand, was arrested at Blk.26 Lot 17 Kensington, Phase 22, Bacao 1 of the same subdivision.
Operatives said they were able to buy 500 grams of shabu from Ofama amounting to P3.4 million.
Inside the house, around 5,000 grams of high-grade marijuana with a market value of P600,000 were found along with sachets with drug residues.
Authorities said this is the area where illegal drugs are being repacked for distribution.
Agent Christopher Basilio said the foreigners were able to ship the illegal drugs by putting those inside boxes of masking tapes.
Boxes of the tapes were also discovered in the house where Ofama was arrested.
The three suspects are said to be getting illegal drugs from one source operating as far as La Union and Pampanga.
Now in the custody of PDEA, the suspects will be charged for violation of Sec. 5 in relation to Sec. 26 paragraph B, Article II of RA 9165.
