Former action star Royette Padilla has died. He was 58.
This was confirmed by her sister Rebecca Padilla on her Facebook account: “Please whisper a prayer for our brother Royette Padilla. A silent prayer for his eternal peace, please.”
Reports showed that Royette died of a heart attack on Saturday, Jan. 9.
Royette was part of the Padilla showbiz dynasty, the son of actor Roy Padilla and actress Eva Cariño. His brothers are actors Robin, Rommel, and actress BB Gandanghari, and through them, uncle to young stars Daniel and Kylie.
Royette had a fair share of spotlight in show business, appearing in films like “Di na Natuto (Sorry na, puede ba?)” (1993) “Mistah” (1994) “Buhay Kamao” (2001) and “Alab ng Lahi” (2003).
In the 1990s, Royette declared himself to be a “brigadier general” of a group dubbed the “H-World United Nations Philippine Military Government International Police Commission.”
Royette’s last Facebook post was about her mother former actress Eva Cariño, who recovered from an illness. He said that the news was the “best gift they received last Christmas.” (Neil Patrick Nepomuceno)
