Five teams have already confirmed participation in the Premier Volleyball League’s Open Conference tentatively set April 10 at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
PVL Commissioner Tony Liao said Creamline, Choco Mucho, Petro Gazz, BanKo Perlas, and Balipure/Chef’s Classics are joining in the tournament that will be played under a bubble-type setup.
Liao said the number of teams would likely increase pending talks with two other companies.
The league has been working on ways on getting the approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to resume team training in time for the tournament.
The format of the event is designed for a month with no audience.
Organizers are also finalizing their broadcast deal for the upcoming season as the league is eager to reconnect with its fans.
Bannered by Alyssa Valdez, Creamline is going for a repeat of its 2019 Open Conference triumph.
Petro Gazz and BanKo Perlas are expected to give Creamline stiff challenge.
The 2020 season was cancelled due to the pandemic.
