A co-actor, CJ Salonga, quickly posted a comment. He didn’t agree with the young actress, former PBB winner.
For his part, Edward said they’re content with who they are to each other, the closest of friends, at this point.
Light banter, as usual, marked the launch of movie, “Princess DayaReese,” a comic take on Hollywood’s “Princess Diaries.”
Mayway and Edward, Mayward for short, rumored on and off-screen sweeties, topbill the picture now streaming on ktx.ph, iWant TFC, TFC IPTV, Cignal pay-per-view or SKY pay-per-view.
COMEDY OF ERRORS: “Princess DayaReese” is all about Reese (Maymay) who dreams of becoming a princess. An opportunity comes when Princess Ulap , a runaway princess and lookalike from Oro Kingdom, asks her to switch places.
They do so for 40 days in exchange of gold. Reese flies to Ulap’s kingdom where she meets Caleb (Barbers), a young reporter tasked to find the truth about the kingdom. They fall in love.
Barry Gonzalez, its director, says the film, though admittedly light, is about new beginnings, second chances.
Edward says the film offers an opportunity for people to laugh, especially at this time.
Edward and Maymay last worked with director Barry in 2018 MMFF hit, “Fantastica.”
Joining them in the cast are Miko Penaloza, Big Mac Andaya, Takuhei Kaneko, Gold Azeron, Neil Coleta, Iggy Boy Flores, Alora Sasam, Christine Samson, Pepe Herrera, Epy Quizon.
Snooky Serna has a special guest role.
