An unidentified man believed to be a victim of “salvaging” (summary execution) was dumped on a street in Paco, Manila, before dawn Tuesday.
A closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage obtained by the Manila Police District (MPD) showed that unidentified men riding a white Mitsubishi L300 van dumped the body at the corner of Quirino Avenue and Leon Guinto Street in Barangay 692, Paco, at around 3:17 a.m.
Capt. Henry Navarro, MPD homicide division chief, said the victim was around 35 to 40 years old, around 5’7″ in height, fair complexioned, and was wearing a red shirt and white denim shorts.
An electrical wire and a plastic nylon cord were wrapped around his neck, and a hand-written sign that read “WAG TULARAN BASAG KOTSE AT HOLD-UPPER AKO, SUSUNOD NA KAYO!!!”
Investigation further showed that the assailants shot the body for several times before they fled toward Leon Guinto Street.
Four fired cartridge casings and three deformed fired bullets were retrieved from the crime scene. (Minka Tiangco)
