The first days of February is going to be colder in some parts of the country as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is forecast to persist, the State weather bureau said Sunday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said amihan will continue to affect the country and that no weather disturbance is expected in the coming days.
Based on PAGASA’s extended weather outlook, temperatures in Baguio City will range between 11 to 22 degrees Celsius Monday and 12 to 24 degrees Celsius in the following days.
In Metro Manila, temperatures will range from 22 to 29 degrees Celsius Monday and 22 to 30 degrees Celsius from Tuesday to Thursday.
The state weather bureau said the northeast monsoon will also bring cloudy skies with rains over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao.
Residents were warned of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate with at times heavy rains.
Cloudy skies with light rains are expected in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol region, Aurora, and Quezon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains.
Due to rough seas, a gale warning has been raised in the northern and eastern seaboard of Luzon, western coasts of northern and central Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA warned fishing boats and other small seacraft not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels were alerted against big waves.
