Police are hunting down a 71-year-old man who escaped after killing his neighbor and seriously wounding another on Wednesday afternoon in Las Pinas City.
The suspect, Ernesto Francisco, a resident of Abrille St., BFRV, Talon 2, Las Pinas City, went into hiding after shooting Ricky Dimatulac, 50, and wounding Dominic Duclayan, 38.
Police said Dimatulac was declared dead on arrival at the University of Perpetual Help Hospital while Duclayan is still under observation at the same hospital.
Investigation showed that prior to the incident, Francisco approached Duclayan at about 1:40 p.m. due to the noise created by his motorcycle.
The son of Duclayan, Dwayne, told police that during the confrontation, the suspect immediately pulled out a firearm and shot his father and Dimatulac, who was just trying to pacify Francisco.
Dwayne said Francisco fled on board his Ford Everest with plate number ZSH-124 after the shooting. (Jean Fernando)
