CEBU CITY – Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 70-year-old prelate was brought to a private hospital after the result of his test was released Thursday night, said Monsignor Joseph Tan, spokesperson of the Archdiocese of Cebu.
Palma’s last public activity was last Wednesday when he celebrated the Ash Wednesday Mass at the Archbishop’s Palace.
“He is now under medical care at Perpetual Succour Hospital. The people who have been in close contact with the Archbishop have also been informed about the matter,” said Tan.
Tan said Palma “remains in a stable condition.”
“Let us all pray for his steady and speedy recovery,” Tan said.
