CEBU CITY – The government has frozen some assets of a suspected drug lord who was recently arrested during a buy-bust operation in his house in Mandaue City.
Police Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), led the serving Friday of the freeze order on the house of Charlie Duhaylungsod in an exclusive subdivision in Barangay Cubacub, Mandaue.
Aside from the sprawling house which is believed to be worth P20 million, the Court of Appeals has also frozen the bank accounts of Duhaylungsod.
Duhaylungsod was arrested in his house at the Vista Montaña Subdivision in a buy-bust operation last Feb. 8, 2019. Seized during the operation were seven kilos of shabu worth P47.7 million.
The PNP then coordinated with the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) for the processing of the freeze orders on Duhaylungsod’s properties.
The AMLC found out that the suspect owned 10 bank accounts and two real properties in Ozamis City and in Mandaue.
Sinas described Duhaylungsod as a big-time drug pusher who had ties with the Parojinog drug group. Duhaylungsod is currently detained at the Mandaue City Jail.
